WAIVER WIRE PICKUPS - WEEK 7

2017-waivers-week-7.jpg

Another week is in the books. And another group of players find themselves in the hospital. Aaron Rodgers and Leonard Fournette headline the list of players that didn’t make it out of Week 6 unscathed. Although, it appears Fournette avoided a major injury. A combination of these weekly injuries, Ezekiel Elliot's ongoing legal troubles,  and another week of Byes, make playing the waiver wire a key to either righting the ship or maintaining your bearings for a championship.

Note: All waiver wire suggestions included in this article are owned in 40% or less of leagues. If you are looking for a guy who you think should be, but is not suggested below, it is probably because he does not meet this requirement - by all means, claim that man, or DM us and ask us if you should.

Also note: This article was written before the ruling in Zeke's case was issued. Since only a TRO was granted, and Zeke's ultimate fate (preliminary injunction) will be decided on Oct. 30th the Dallas players mentioned may still be worth a pickup.

QUARTERBACKS TO STREAM

Tyrod Taylor / BUF vs. TB

Our top QB streaming option for Week 7 is Tyrod Taylor. Coming off a Bye, the Bills host the floundering Bucs, which just allowed Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald to go back in a time machine and put up prime numbers against them. If you lost Rodgers, Tyrod is a great streaming option in Week 7.

Blake Bortles / JAC @ IND

Bortles is a bad QB, but he is not an awful fantasy QB. He actually finished top-10 in the position last season. The Jags run their offense through Fournette. There is no doubt about that. Fournette, however, tweaked his ankle in Week 6. More importantly, Bortles gets a matchup against a Colts D that let a clearly limited Marcus Mariota throw for over 300 against them.

Josh McCown / NYJ @ MIA

Again, I don’t love it, but we really like to have a third option. McCown was a top-5 fantasy QB in Week 6, and would have been better if not for a ASJ TD being taken off the board for reasons I still don't understand. Only thing I can come up with is Mark Wahlberg hit one of those buttons at a Buffalo Wild Wings that makes the Referees screw up the game. McCown just had his best game of the year and has another plus matchup against the Dolphins.

RUNNING BACKS

Orleans Darkwa / NYG

Darkwa took the bulk of the carries in the first quarter in Week 5. Then, he came up with an injury and it was Wayne Gallman's game from there. In Week 6, Darkwa clearly established himself as the lead back in New York. He out touched Gallman 21-9, and more importantly, he took those 21 carries for 117 yards. Gallman is still not without value, as Darkwa has proven an injury risk in his career.

Darren McFadden / DAL

As of this writing, the fate of Ezekiel Elliott is still undecided. For this reason, Alfred Morris and Darren McFadden need to be picked up in every league - if you are an Elliott owner, you sure as hell better grab one of these guys. The Fantasy community is still undecided on who will be the guy in Zeke's absence. Dallas will likely split work between the two back. We are putting our eggs in McFadden's basket as he was a 1,000 yard rusher for the 'Boys only two years ago, and he has better pass catching chops than Morris.

Other RBs to target: Wayne Gallman / NYG ; Matt Forte / NYJ; Matt Breida / SF; Dion Lewis / NE; Alex Collins / BAL

Wide Receivers

Cole Beasley / DAL

Cole has had a largely forgettable year thus far. His value and usage in the offense may see an uptick if Zeke is to miss some time. If you have a spot on the bench, Beasley is worth a roster spot while we see how things shake out if Zeke were to serve his suspension now.

Mike Williams / LAC

Mike Williams suited up in Week 6 for the Chargers. While he caught his only target for 15 yards, Tyrell Williams and Travis Benjamin both saw their snaps decrease. The Chargers' plan was to ease Williams into the game plan. He is worth a stash in deep leagues on talent alone.

Other WRs to Target: JuJu Smith Schuster / PIT; Ricardo Lewis / CLE ; Zay Jones / BUF ;

TIGHT ENDS

Zach Miller / CHI

The good news is that Miller has caught TD passes in consecutive weeks. The bad news is that he connected with Tarik Cohen for the score in Week 6. Miller only caught 2 balls for 4 yards on Trubisky passes. As the young QB becomes more comfortable in-game, we may see him turn to his athletic, reliable TE more.

Other TEs to Target: Benjamin Watson / BAL; George Kittle / SF; Nick O'Leary / BUF
