WAIVER WIRE PICKUPS - WEEK 8

2017-waivers-week-8.jpg

We are now entering the half-way point of the NFL regular season. While most of the goods have been picked from the Waiver Wire, Week 8 brings us 6 teams on Bye. The Packers, Titans, Rams, Giants, Cardinals, and Jaguars all get a breather this week.

Note: All waiver wire suggestions included in this article are owned in 40% or less of leagues. If you are looking for a guy who you think should be, but is not suggested below, it is probably because he does not meet this requirement - by all means, claim that man, or DM us and ask us if you should.

Also note: This article was written before the ruling in Zeke's case was issued. Since only a TRO was granted, and Zeke's ultimate fate (preliminary injunction) will be decided on Oct. 30th the Dallas players mentioned may still be worth a pickup.

QUARTERBACKS TO STREAM

Tyrod Taylor / BUF vs. OAK

I love Tyrod. He is a streamer every week. If your QB is on Bye use Tyrod. If you lost Rodgers, pick him up. He gets enough rushing yards each week to equal at least 1 TD pass.

Andy Dalton / CIN vs IND

This spot on the streaming options seems to be reserved for whatever QB is playing the Colts. Indy has allowed Mariota and Bortles to throw for over 300 in consecutive weeks. Dalton should have a big game as well.

RUNNING BACKS

Aaron Jones / GB

It is amazing how many leagues Jones is not owned in. Now that Rodgers is out, Green Bay will be running the ball more. Whether it be from production, or whether Ty Montgomery is still not recovered from his rib injury, Jones out touched the WR turned RB 20-5 against the Saints on Sunday. He totaled 135 yards and a TD on those touches. If your league is one where he is still available, go get him. Better yet, since the Pack have a bye this week, if someone drops him to make room on their team, be the one to pick him up and give him a bye week slot on your roster.

Wendell Smallwood / PHI

Smallwood missed the previous 2 games with a knee injury. Going into Monday night, his usage was largely a question mark. As of this writing (halftime of the MNF game) Smallwood has out touched and out performed all other Eagles' RBs

Other RBs to target:  Dion Lewis / NE;

Wide Receivers

Ted Ginn, Jr. / NO

If I told you a former Ohio State WR grabbed 7 catches for 141 yards in Week 7, you would immediately assume I was talking about Michael Thomas, and you would be wrong. Many thought Ginn would cede reps and touches to Willie Snead upon his return. So far, that has not been the case. If Ginn continues to perform as he has the past two weeks, 15 catches for 276 yards with 2 TDs, he will remain the WR2 in NO.

Other WRs to Target: JuJu Smith Schuster / PIT;

TIGHT ENDS

AJ Derby / DEN

Denver is struggling on offense. Their WRs are banged up and the their offensive line is having trouble protecting the QB and creating room in the running game. When a young QB gets antsy, he starts to look for his TE. Derby led the Broncos in receiving in week 7, and gets a Chiefs D that just gave up over 100 yards to Jared Cook. Yes, that Jared Cook.

Other TEs to Target: George Kittle / SF; Jared Cook / OAK
